Nobody is claiming people have a "right to get high".
The argument is that the gvmt has no right to violate a citizen's right to that property, any more than they have a right to prevent you from owning a television.
If you infringe on others, it's a crime.
Not complicated.
what's your "sales pitch" for the gvmt being allowed to fine, incarcerate, etc. people for possessing or smoking marijuana? Where do they have this power given to them?
The gvmt's job is to protect our rights, not to infringe upon them.
