- Ash never seems to be seriously reprimanded for breaking protocol and letting the alien in. Granted Dallas was ordering Ripley to let them aboard but he should’ve been relieved of his duties and/or placed under arrest. Dallas presumably steps up as chief to “go into the shaft” partly because of guilt over this error, but nobody besides Ripley even mentions the faux pas in passing. “Hey you guys really fvcked up bringing an unknown creature aboard!”

- When Brett lets the cat escape before getting Xenomorphed, the whole crew is obviously jumpy. Dallas wants them staying in teams and communicating yet they let Brett wander off far away chasing pvssy. There’s a metaphor in there somewhere. But what the hell were Ripley and Parker doing? Why didn’t they go with him?

- Ripley repeats this mistake when they split up after killing Ash when she sends Parker and Lambert to get coolant, which is evidently super important for the shuttle. Of course they get killed while Ripley is, once again, chasing pvssy. Metaphors and ****.

- oh and that super important coolant? They were ten months of Nostromo travel time from Earth, and Parker and Lambert had noisily acquired about a cart’s worth of it, but Ripley, believe it or not, leaves it all there after finding their bodies. So much for it being a must have priority! And we know she winds up floating for 57 years so it couldn’t have been that important to begin with.

- When the alien kills Brett and Dallas it takes the bodies leaving nothing but slime at the crime scene. Deleted scenes reveal it was cocooning them and turning them into eggs. But it just left Parker and Lambert’s bodies there dangling about for Ripley to find. Bizarre behavior.

- If Ripley is able to see the special “science officer eyes only” order to bring back the organism even at the crew’s expense, wouldn’t Dallas have seen that too? And thus known what Ash was up to? All she had to do was ask Mother to show her the super secret order and she did. This says nothing about how Ash mysteriously appears in the tiny control room when we’ve never heard him enter.

- they can’t decipher the original “space jockey” message but Ripley runs it through “mother”, who presumably already “knows” the message involves an organism for the company to have issued the special directive in the first place, but Mother then alerts her that part of it appears to be a warning. Why do this and alert the crew if that could even possibly jeopardize bringing it back? Alert them too soon and they never go to the jockey shop and get Caine impregnated.
