You deserved to win.

But Mullen’s point was valid. If you look at our season, we had three losses - UGA, where we had a second half lead, KY where we had the ball with a chance to win at the end, and you guys, where we were even never in the game, at home.

So the idea that you deserved to win and we came out flat aren’t mutually exclusive, and Mullen made that point too. He was trying to teach the team that you have to show up each week or you’re gonna get smoked.

For the record, I think you would have won regardless, your strengths hit our weaknesses. But it was a new coach trying to instill the right culture in his team. And by the way, after that game we didn’t lose again, so the message seems to have worked.

So in the end, thanks for the beatdown. Will do us long term good.
