Come on folks. Every president has shut down the government. How are these people not prepared? Maybe, just maybe, many of these folks are living beyond their means. If you’re working a federal job, your healthcare and retirement is heavily subsidized by taxpayers. Maybe you should be living in a smaller house, having fewer kids, buying fewer clothes, and actually saving. You should have enough saved to last you at least 3 months without a paycheck in case you’re fired. It’s not easy to do, but believe me, it can be done. I’ve worn shirts with holes, shoes that the soles were falling off, and lived in $350 a month apartments.
