Have you seen the border? It's miles and miles of open country where a camera, drone, plane, or border police can easily spot "illegals".
It makes no financial sense to build walls out there. The border can be secured with effective, lower cost measures.
Where physical barriers make sense is where there are large populations on both sides of the border. In those places, it's harder to control the movement of people coming and going.
The wall isn't a practical necessity. The Trump administration commissioned a study to deem whether it was a practical necessity. The results have never been released. Do you think they would hesitate to release that study if it proved their lies?
The wall is purely political. It appeals to Trump's base and alienates everyone else. If he survives to 2020, does he plan to campaign on the same BS he just lost 2018 on?
