tariffs only as a negotiating lever with an end to overall reduction in tariffs on both sides.
If it works, we should both be very happy.
If it doesn't, and trump removes the US tariffs, we go back to China subsidizing their private producers and putting tariffs on US goods and the US just "dealing with it".
If it doesn't and trump keeps the US tariffs in place long-term, I will denounce it as idiotic.
