I think all border spending needs to be retooled. I think our border is relatively secure, but more could be done, certainly, without spending $40B on a wall or $10B on parts of a fence.
I do like the idea of being proactive about potential terrorist crossings at the S border, rather than reactive. But the truth is, they are being caught on their way here. Spanky's own DHS article suggests that go through a bunch of checkpoints along the way from Brazil and are being stopped.
Does that about answer it?
