7-year old girl being shot.
"An amazing twist in the tragic shooting death of a 7 year old girl Jazmine Barnes in Houston . The gunman not white after all.
He's identified as Eric Black Jr. 20 years old an African American.
Now it seems like muich of the public interest is already beginning to turn with the arrest of a black shooter.
It's really amazing to watch the sudden change in reaction, just caused by the fact that the killer was black even though little 7 year old Jazmine is just as dead.
For a solid week since last Sunday when the shooting happened the search was on for a white man believed to be the killer.
Police now say the man witnesses saw was likely a bystander who was fleeing the scene.
But while the search was on there were large gatherings and near protests, politicians were sounding off along with athletes and other celebrites.
. Everybody coast to coast and elected officials in Washington and elsewhere were decrying the shooting saying it was someting akin to an attack on an innocent Black Family by a white terrorist.
One athlete even pledged $100,000 to catch the killer and help the family. More pledges of help was also starting to pour in from all across the nation as people saw a huge racial issue. Some were genuinely concerned but others were determined to capitalize on it. This was the lead story everywhere with continued focus on the nation wide search effort to catch the "White killer"..Some were also criticizing Police because they hadn't brought the killer to justice.
Houston was reaching a boiling point over all this. But the situation was stretching out nationwide
You can imagine the collective shock in many quarters that the killer wasn't white after all.
But you can imagine the relief of law enforcement and many other Houston city leaders at the arrest of two black suspects. One of them Eric Black Jr. has alledgedly admtted his role in the shooting.
Already the narrative is changing and the crowd temperture is dropping fast.
Th narrative is softening .
Now it seems it may have been a case of mistaken identity with the killer firing into the car occupied by the mother and her three daughters.
Certainly this isn't nearly as compelling a case as it would have been had it been a white killer which could have feed into the narritive of a white terrorist on the loose gunning down innocent Blacks.
Now we just have yet another case of Black on Black crime. It's an important issue that's claimed so many lives, but really doesn't register on the meter of public attention by the public or their elected leaders.
No doubt this is another tragic murder where attention will steadily fade as it gets lost in the shuffle of so many other Black on Black murders.
It's unfortunate considering 7 year old Jazmine Barnes..is still just as dead no matter who pulled the trigger."

Growing up in Pruitt-Igoe where he resisted bad influences and with a mother who worked 2 jobs as a housekeeper to send him to college has made this man speak the truth about the issues affecting many black communities.
