1. The military isn't getting "the best and the brightest" - call it a poor sense of humor or simply dumb.

2. The republicans funded the pentagon for the full fiscal year. They ensured that their pet dept was taken care of so that a "shutdown" could be prolonged.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
