The Dutch I believe originally settled in NY and then NJ. I have an ancestor from that side that was a 19 year old NJ farm boy named Kuhl who died for the Union side at the battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse charging across a field. Was just 19, but a prolific letter writer and they were passed down so I read every one more than once.
Irish side made its way to Wisconsin and then northern Iowa. Founded with a boyhood friend a town in Northern Iowa that I understand still exists but is a dot with a couple of houses hard by the Minnesota border. Family patriarch fought for the north in the civil war too.
