it's been demonstrated time and again. Again, it looked like it was a done deal - R's on board, late night vote, etc., etc.
CNN gleefully announced that he'd been backed off his wall and threat to shut down the government. Ran a banner that said "sources said Trump sensitive to claims..."; repetitively playing his comments/speeches about Mexico paying for the wall.
Wake up this morning and he's calling Paul Ryan to see if they've got enough votes to override his veto. So, it's one of two things:
1) He's throwing a tantrum and threatening veto; or
2) If he doesn't want a shutdown, he can veto it, let it be overridden, and tout to his base that he was willing to shut it down for the wall, but blame Congress.
