soap opera that is Washington, DC? There's a reason why something like 5 of the nation's richest counties surround the swamp, and it's not because the people there are inventing amazing new technologies or curing cancer. It's all about payoffs and bribes, and the average citizen can't do a damned thing about it.

I think "The Hunger Games" pretty well symbolized the difference between the political elite and their sycophants in Washington and the rest of the country.
