I'm sorry - was off a year. And I remember Greg Fingerhut.
Suburban South had some good teams back then.
I remember 1968 / 1969.
Webster Groves had Johnny Parker, Danny Dunkman, Alan Knapp, Doug Wessel, Alan Foster.
Parkway Central countered with Jim Weinstroer in the middle, John Korschot, Jim Van Amburg, Schwartz and Coleman with Eisen off the bench.
Parkway Central advanced to the state quarters that year against Sumner at Kiel Auditorium. I went down there for that game.
Sumner had 7' David Brent; Harry Rogers (soon to be St. Louis U's all time leading scorer); Marshall Rogers who led the nation in scoring at Pan American University - they were loaded.
Sumner jumped out to a big halftime lead but Parkway Central (with Coach Irv Leimer calling the shots) put on a full court press - Weinstroer was hitting his turn around jumpers from the top of the key - and they cut the lead all the way down to 1 - Korschott stole the ball in the lane and made the go ahead shot.....but he traveled. Sumner righted their ship - won the game - beat Webster in the semi-finals, and I think beat Beaumont in the finals.
I'm sure I miss-spelled a name or too - but great memories.
