Pickett plays hard, but how do you get amazing out of that?

Granted he is a freshman and trying hard, but he should have never held that ball at the end of the game being only a 45% FT shooter, he didn't have WOOHOO stats for the game. So how do you get amazing out of that? Or do you just really like Pickett, which is fine, but that still doesn't make him amazing!
