I agree that there is a disturbing lack of civility, and college protest groups shouldn't block speakers from speaking at a college sponsored event. Colleges are supposed to be places of learning and collaboration. Speakers should be heard even if they are held afterwards as examples of what's wrong with a certain viewpoint.
The rise of protesting is not limited to leftist groups. Right-wing groups commit most of the terror attacks in this country, and it's not particularly close, but terror is not limited to right-wing groups, either.
Civil protesting outside of political events are fair game. That is the American way.
I'm uncomfortable with folks trying to have a meal being forced out of restaurants because of their views. Unfortunately, that is the only contact a lot of people will feel they are going to get from their political representatives. They aren't heard in any other venue. Politicians only represent their donors anymore.
