The recruiting services don’t reflect the talent or potential of a recruit - they reflect which teams are recruiting them. Is it a fair assumption that Alabama is recruiting elite players? Yes. But can we apply the same assumption to teams like Tennessee and Missouri? Is it more likely that the services are susceptible to historical prejudices and presuppositions such as “Tennessee recruits better players than Missouri because they’re Tennessee “?
