and Fiji isn't entirely wrong. If you're in a bad APR situation, you're less able to run kids off unless you can place them. If you're in a bad APR situation, you have to make sure that kids are taking care of business and have less room for error. When you change coaching staffs, the desires of players to leave and coaches to get their own kids can cause issues. If you have a few that you have disciplinary/attitudinal issues with as well, it can cause issues in a hurry.
What Fiji always fails to distinguish (intentionally so because we've pointed it out to him several times) is that there are "automatic" waivers and there are "discretionary" waivers granted by the NCAA. Just because a kid leaves and isn't granted an auto waiver doesn't mean he'll end up being a knock against your APR.
Example: Player withdraws because mother is sick and he wants to be closer to home, but doesn't end up enrolling in time. It's very likely you'd get an APR waiver, even though that kid wouldn't qualify for any of the auto provisions.
