Thoughts from the game

Our defense is pretty good. We don’t give up much in the paint and I don’t know the stats but C-Ark didn’t get many, if any, 2nd shots. We won’t be a dominant defense, but it does seem like our opponents will mayyybe get one open look, and they better make it.

Mark Smith I’m sure has been discussed. I was surprised by his size and smooth stroke. Double double. Not assists, but rebounds! Impressive.

Pickett is similar. Pretty big guard. Size, length, strength. Those two on the floor (Smith) together is intriguing.

Tilmon looked much more comfortable on the floor. He had his moments where he dropped his shoulder or was too aggressive, but for the most part, he was relaxed and let the game come to him. I’m surprised he didn’t get a double double.

Geist played well, but didn’t hit his open looks. He obviously needs to do that when we play tougher oppenents.

Puryear ugh. He said he added to his game the ability to “stretch the defense” - um. No. Just no. He had 10+ rebounds tonight - huge! Stick to that. No more stretching the defense, unless he’s going to pass the ball inside.

Watson is going to be good. I think really good. He was disappointed in his performance tonight, that was obvious, but I thought he played well. He’s really likable.

I like this team! Potential bubble team. We are going to surprise some teams that overlooks us this year.
