complete public single payer healthcare, with gov't salaried doctors and nurses, gov't hospitals, etc, and is open to all with no charge, except maybe drugs because gov't should not take over drug production.

All that presume NO other gov't provided HC. Given what we do now, it may save money. But don't expect better care.
