Did he regress significantly?

Why would he suddenly be ineffective as a sophomore?
He originally committed to us when we were D1, so it should be reasonable to assume he has this level of talent:

First, there was a difficult decision to rescind his verbal commitment to the Tigers. That came after Frank Haith left to take the job at the University of Tulsa.
“It was very tough,” Suggs said. “I wasn’t looking forward to decommitting from Missouri. When I saw the coaching change, it left me wondering how I would fit in with Kim Anderson. When I saw Coach Haith wasn’t going to be there, I thought this might not be the right school for me. I talked to my family about it and they realized we probably should take another year to think about it. I could always recommit because they had an offer for me.”
