about 30 years ago. One's right are based on law. Your question does anyone have a right to come here for any reason is silly. People move to the US all the time. I guess they have the right to do so. Your idea that immigration laws have been tossed is flatly incorrect. We are in sore need of revising, revamping or flat out re-writing immigration policy to best address not the past but the future. Immigration to the US is DOWN in the last 5-10 years not up. Our natural birth rates are flat. Our population is mostly aging. We need workers and contributors to the economy and greater demand for goods and services.
In fact, flat out amnesty - what Reagan did - right now on all the on paper illegals and making them good tax paying citizens would in one fell swoop solve the SS funding "crisis" we face now. More tax payers, more labor, coming out of shadows would be a good thing. Of course it would rob the Right of the ILLEGALS rallying cry, but the benefits far outweigh the costs.
