Is Evansville being allowed to bend the rules?

Someone else can probably answer this better than I can but my understanding is a non qualifier cannot go to a school on a scholarship or be allowed to practice with the team.

he Purple Aces said Wednesday that NCAA officials denied the school's request for a waiver. Williams was considered a non-qualifier but will be allowed to keep his scholarship and practice with the team this season.

Maybe Evansville could address this issue since they like to follow the rules.
