you're right, but that shouldn't end the conversation.

BO's team is competitive with other mid-to-bottom tier teams. he's rarely competitive with good teams. the remainder of this season will tell us a lot, but unfortunately there will still likely be a lot of questions that in year 3 he's still unable to answer.
i still don't know if he can recruit at a high level. the recruiting battles he's winning today are against tulane and arkansas state and south dakota. he's not winning many recruiting battles against tennessee or vanderbilt or ole miss or kentucky, let alone the top tier teams like texas or oklahoma or LSU or whoever.
i haven't seen a whole lot of player development under odom. at least pinkel was able to take overlooked guys and turn them into pros. odom appears to be taking pros and turning them into overlooked guys.
he doesn't seem to be able to hold onto a coaching staff. it's tough to build a program when you have a revolving door at nearly every level of your staff, let alone land recruits when they don't know the new guy or can't trust that they guy they know will even be there in a year. pinkel had some guys leave over his tenure as well, but he maintained some level of consistency in his program. BO has shown the opposite.
these things are all cause for concern and certainly warrant conversation.
