Trump, at the urging of various Republican establishment insiders, hired Manafort as his campaign manager in the late/spring early summer of 2016. Manafort served in that capacity for about four months and then resigned.

Manafort advised the Ukrainian government and various Ukrainian leaders on various matters, including joining the European union during the roughly 2010 - 2015 time period. He was paid very substantial fees and those fees were not reported to U.S. tax authorities. That was essentially the basis of Mueller's money laundering charges.

None of the convictions are based on events or facts that are related to Manafort serving as Trump's campaign manager or from Manafort's activities or fees performed and earned from the Trump campaign or related to the Trump campaign.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
