He was our highest rated recruit....rated at Defensive end. He was a top 20 DE. Every scouting report I saw valued him as a DE in college. Higher than the other players we signed at that position.
We are somewhat thin at Defensive End and are relying on freshmen to fill the depth.

Yet, the coaching staff says that Parker can help Mizzou faster at Tight End, a position where we have 2 established, high quality players...which is adequate...and we have 2 reasonably well regarded young players for the future.

Somebody or somebodies have made a serious mistake in evaluating Daniel Parker Jr. May be our staff. May be scouts. May be the other 17 coaches who offered him, presumably, as a DE.

The situation is quite odd. We do not need another Tight End this year. We do need depth at Defensive End. The kid is supposedly a great Defensive End. And we move him to Tight End, where we need him to contribute nothing.
