I believe the central theme of Trump's campaign was race. He took the Lee A****er playbook and beefed it up. Everything the GOP said they stood for, they no longer stand for. Such as spending, tough on N Korea and Russia, respecting soldiers and military, taking guns etc...

That all became secondary to race. And Obama's election and presidency scared the heck out of his supporters.
