I looked at what actually happened. The TINY district this gal ran to represent - this is kinda fun, was Archie Bunker's district - Queens, an area with a majority of the population comprised of minorites.

YOU take this to mean SOCIALISTS RISE in the Democratic Party. I take it to show that a long-standing pol who took his district for granted and did not hit the streets to work his people wound up losing to a young gal who REFLECTED the distrct, young minority who went out and worked the lines and the streets.

You want to read this as a reflection of the national party the national population you will be wrong.

The US is not (yet) a macrocosm of Queens.
