a tie for 7th place in the SEC. Assuming we still get an at large bid that would still meet both criteria.

If we lost 2 more games, we become an 18 win team that ties for 9th in the SEC and almost certainly goes to the NIT. I don't think hardly any MU fans would have considered that hypothetical result a good season. So my premise stands.
