he capitulates, which is what the Republicans call compromise?

This will be great if it happens. But I'm not sure that it will have much impact on the midterms. Democrats and can tell lies as easily from Washington as they can from their home states. It's mostly a TV and advertising campaign anyway. But if Mitch can get some work done in August, that would be good.

I will believe it when I see it.
