And stuck to Rosenstein's recommendation as his justification, he would not be in the mess he is in today.
If he had just said "No comment" on AF-1 and not said anything about the payoff to Miss Stormy, he could make a compelling case for attorney-client privilege.
But he had to pop off. He always has to pop off.
