Maybe he liked being away from the stress of D-1 and only took the Mizzou position because it was his alma mater.

Maybe it left a bad taste in his mouth and he didn't want to deal with the hassle of it. Just coach kids.

Maybe the offers, if any, he had were further away from the midwest and home and he didn't want to relocate that far away.

Maybe he likes Pitt State's color scheme. Or has a favorite restaurant there.

Who knows.
