Walter Meanwell is one of two MU head coaches in the Hall of Fame. He is still the all time NCAA record holder as a coach for fastest to 100 and 200 career victories. Notably for many innovations in the game.

Craig Ruby took over for him, and led MU to back to back retroactively declared national championships.
