ks at Ameren & gets free electricity at work, which is good for the round trip out to St. Charles & back and then some. He figures he's getting the car for free based upon his fuel cost savings calculations before 100,000 miles, which is the warranty on the battery.
He loves it & everyone in the family takes it first when given the choice, unless they need the truck or are going on a longer trip. It gets 120+ miles, though that drops in cold weather. I think it's rated for 107 mile range / charge. The Chevy Bolt has something like 240 mi range, I believe.
Not sure you you could "leave the motor running" on one. I think his has one of those proximity keys that can activate it when you're near it. I think his is "off" even when it just stops at a stop light, or in traffic. I think the only electricity being used would be for accessories. Even the air conditioner doesn't seem to use a noticeable amount, but the heater does.
