Religion is almost entirely an emotional argument for most people because one's beliefs are not easily changed, and there is not much real world scientific evidence that would substantiate a religious argument one way or the other.
Politics is becoming that way rapidly. We can't even agree on a starting point for facts, so there is no reasonable basis for future argument.
