Others who had the same condition on message groups were complaining about the UK NHS waitlists causing 3-4 month delays in seeing a nephrologist. Waiting while their kidneys were getting more and more damaged, putting them at greater risk of developing end stage renal disease, which requires dialysis and kidney transplant.
The steriods and immunosuppressive drug my son was put on for 6 months limited it to minor scarring in his kidneys. He has kidney function (gfr) well within the normal range and he only has to go in for a **** test once a year.
