Could say maybe made a fool of himself in some cases, but -
I don't consider the NFL time as both Saban and Spurrier also failed in the NFL.
At Tenn, took from 5 to 7 wins. Can say that the way he left was bad, but he isn't the reason they have been on a downward spiral, that was Dooley.
At USC, he went 29-20. Not great, not horrible, but remember they had bowl sanctions and he was down like 30 scholarships over a period of time. All things considered with the lack of depth you can build with that few schollys, he did ok there.
Bama - won a NC as OC.
FAU - took a 3 win team and won 11 games in his first year.
Hate or like the guy, yes he is a character and does some stupid things. But he hasn't failed everywhere he has been.
