Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and GOP presidential contender, said Brezinski was out of of bounds.
"She deserves better from other women and it just amazes me that even the women who say they are feminists are doing everything they can to discredit my daughter," Mike Huckabee said Wednesday evening on Fox News. "My daughter stands strong and tough and walks into that lions den of a press room every day and represents women and represents the president and represents strength in an incredible way."
Brzezinski was following up on her plea from the day before for women in the White House to stand up to Trump for a tweet that he sent out that attacked Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).
On Tuesday, Trump called Gillibrand a "light weight" and wrote in parentheses that she "would do anything" for campaign contributions. Many women, including Democratic elected officials, took that statement to be a sexual innuendo. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) called it "slut shaming."
In a blistering attack on first lady Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump, women in the White House and Trump staffers in general, Brzezinski said they all failed to call out Trump for the sexual harassment contained in the tweet and have further failed to create an environment conducive to progress for women.
