not confer legitimacy on the gov't then what does? And if nothing does, why bother with any of it? We could go to pickletopia and let the strongest tyrant eventually take over it all. I trust you will explain this.
Also, democracy can and usually has created a compromise before a bill is passed. That compromise often comprises the worst of both sides rather than the best, but that is what it may take for everyone to win their next re-election.
And THAT is why we would be so much better with one candidate. Which, of course, is a total pipe dream. But to say it isn't much better I consider the epitomy of willful ignorance.
