Yes you can. Of course you can. What is misplaced here is putting Jesus in it. Jesus said that if you wanted to follow him, to take your staff and your staff only. Leave you families, your homes, your jobs, take your staff and your staff only. If you want what Jesus had - give your live to God as he had done. THAT will get you there. Hoarding your money never will. Of course it is a balance. I like the Muslim concept of Jihad, acknowledging that personal struggle within us all.
