peaceful protesting in Ferguson. Charlottesville was too afraid to be proactive.
Their plan was pizz poor and I doubt they had much of a plan.
As I have said before, when we csn control Fred Phelps and his band of merry idiots by requiring permits and having stipulations and requirements on those permits but fail to take control on BLM and Free Seech rallies and failnto recognize there will be elements of militant protesters who are drawn to those events, disaster is in the cards.
Letting "protesters" show up with clubs, pipes, and flagpoles was egregious. Not having a plan in place to keep a buffer between the groups was egregious. And neither group was clean in this, but Charlottesville PD fell on its face by not having adequate planning.
Black police chief, btw. Would be interesting to see where his political loyalties lie. He should support the safety of the citizens first, not the black nor the white protesters. He failed miserably.
