After multiple penalties were assessed Brohm protested by coaching the rest of the game in full helmet and pads. The College Football Hall of Fame has ranked it as the #4 greatest championship moment in college football history. Brohm played college football at University of Louisville for coach Howard Schnellenberger from 1989 to 1993 and played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons from 1994 to 2000 and the XFL in 2001.
