My wife and I voted republican in every election since we've been married (30 years). Not anymore. We are not alone. Even many of the evangelicals I know are starting to second guess their commitments to the republican party. I think we will indeed see some big shifts in the future as the lower middle class white population also starts to realize they gain no benefit from the republicans.
