should be the ones to decide how much of my money I am allowed to keep.
One of the major problems we have today is that too few people actually have any skin in the game. If my local school district puts a tax levy on the ballot the people living in the area decide if they wish to pay or not. It is their money and they are making a decision based upon what is best for them and their community.
But when people are making decisions based upon the idea that someone else will pay for it then there is no personal accountability there. Why did the people of KC overwhelmingly vote for the airport after voting it down multiple times. It wasn't because they finally saw the light it was because the plan put forth this time assured them that someone else would be paying for it.
If a plan is good for everyone then everyone should help pay for it not just the wealthy or 'someone else'.
