and will probably be the weakest SoS of any power-conference team in the last 5-10 years.

However, it's worth noting that most SoS rankings are based on simple averages of opponent ratings and therefore provide an over-simplified analysis. Different statistical methods will yield different SoS rankings.

For example, an SoS formula rates a schedule with 12 good-but-not-great opponents as being comparable to a schedule with 8 cupcakes and 4 powerhouses, but those are very different schedules. In all likelihood, the cupcake-laden schedule will be easier to rack up wins against even though the average difficulty is the same. Our schedule has 10 cupcakes and 2 powerhouses.
