will agree we never met that goal we were getting close enough to realize that opportunity was not going to close the gap.
That realization has led the left to shift that goal to equality of outcome. Equality of opportunity is a noble goal because it strives to give everyone a chance to make something of their lives irrespective of their starting point. Equality of outcome is a fool's errand. There are too many variables at play to think equality of outcome is even possible.
