As much as I have traveled, this is the place I would rather live than pretty much anywhere else. I like our overall ideals and approach to a free society. have we done lots of bad...we sure have...have we done lots of good..we sure have. Unfortunately, we are seeing more and more intrusion of government in the last 20+ years. I still believe we can have an effective government that helps our society. I believe a strong society benefits everyone. I very much appreciate a town (and some states) that is run well to the benefit everyone. Unfortunately, government has become more and more to pick winners and losers....Maybe it has always been that way, and I am just realizing it..I don't know.

I am not sure exactly what "pledging allegiance" really means to be honest. I think blind allegiance to anything is quite absurd. I have also come to believe that someone else's opinion on something has ZERO bearing on my opinion. I will try to convince them on my position, but it still does not mean they HAVE to do what I want them to do.
