innocent people that had done him no wrong is still quite irrational, though, no?

and why do it at some other hotel?

Even if he wanted to act like a nut he could have blown his head off in the lobby of the hotel he was p*ssed at, rather than go to some other hotel to cause massive problems.

It just doesn't add up, even for most crazy people.
