He literally did a story every week on Jones and his legal trouble with taxes and other shady deals, and quite frankly brought a ton of things about Jones to light. When Jones was sentenced to prison Owens asked him, on live TV, if he thought he was going to like being in prison. A great LOL moment and Classic local TV news.
Jump ahead to last election. Mayor Lyda Krewson defeated a young woman named Tishaura Jones, who is Virvus's daughter. She leads a powerful socialist movement within City politics. And the Jones family hates Mike Owens with a passion.
So, Krewson is scared to death of her. It is why she jumped on the Confederate statue bandwagon and has been critical of police.
Another day of Black and White Democrat in the city not able to play nice with each other in dividing up the carcass of a once great city.
