It is not possible to have a more clear cut case of using an ineligible player than Darell Arthur. It is not plausible to have a more clear cut case of Lack of Institutional Control than their ticket scandal. In both cases, outside parties conducted a thorough investigation and the NCAA just had to use their work. Nothing happened.
In their 2006 probation it was uncovered that ku was purposefully understaffing and undermining its compliance department so it couldn't function, even going so far as having a direct quote given that 'Compliance doesn't sell tickets'. They used this argument that violations which had gone on for decades undetected and unreported couldn't be considered because they were beyond the NCAA statute of limitations. And it worked.
Bill Self could do what Dave Bliss did and likely ku wouldn't get in trouble.
And Kim Anderson arguably had a more negative impact on MU basketball than Dave Bliss did on Baylor. He deserves no positive credit for anything.
