You forgot that science is a process and that hypotheses are tested repeatedly in an effort to falsify them. Solar eclipses provide unique opportunities for hypothesis testing. Do you know what a hypothesis that has been repeatedly tested (hundreds and thousands of times) is called? It is called a theory... like the theory of gravity or germ theory or the theory of relativity or the theory of evolution.

But that's okay if your applied mathematics background blinded you to how science works. I'll give you a pass for your ignorance. Nice try, pal.
